After the long, cold winters, New Yorkers are ready to enjoy Sprintime to the fullest. The fomerly grey cityscape bursts forth into a kaleidoscope of flowering trees, tulip beds and a rush of people trying to look their best. Why not? Love is in the air when Spring hits the Big City!
Check out photos of Central Park, the sunny streets, green squares, and New Yorkers out to enjoy the best of the season.
The architecture of New York City is endlessly varied and curiously juxtaposed like no place else on Earth. The city is dense, tall, and absolutely full of buildings that command attention. Have a look at this architectural sampler, giving a taste of what this city is famous for...and visit in the future for a separate section that will have an a more complete collection of specific building photos.
The Easter Parade is a New York City tradition since the late 1800s, when people strolled on Fifth Avenue in their best Easter clothes to see and be seen. The gathering has evolved into a fun, loosely organized day featuring the most creative and colorful Spring themed hats and costumes you can imagine. Fifth Avenue is closed to traffic from 48th to 57th Street and becomes the scene of one of New York's most colorful events.
This collection of photos show New York City in the Fall, when the humidity of summer is gone but plenty of days with warm temperatures and blue skies remain. The parks put on a show of colorful foliage, as do the residential side streets and busy squares. Stores are stocked with the latest Autumn fashion, and New Yorkers enjoy a short break from the hordes of tourists. Autumn in the City is spectacular!
These pictures of New Yorkers show a divers cross section of the city's inhabitants. New York attitude and individuality is no myth, and the city is a mecca for everyone from misfits to living fashion plates... from the millionaires to the hard-working immigrants establishing a new home. I love this city most of all for its people, and this is my tribute to them. I plan to continually add photos to this album.
